Our weddings of the year, and a request…

Emily and Ed in Wright Brothers Bicycle Shop

As the New Year quickly approaches, my plan was to take a look back and reflect on some favorite wedding moments of 2011.

At first, I thought this would be easy. However, once I started looking at all the great couples we’ve worked with over the year, I quickly discovered the task to be the exact opposite. It’s ridiculously challenging. Okay – it’s close to impossible!

It could be because we have had a record number of wedding events at The Henry Ford this year – 395 – including rehearsals, ceremonies, receptions and related occasions.

So, I’m turning it over to you … the brides and groom who celebrated their weddings at The Henry Ford.

What is your favorite memory? Be it ceremony or another wedding-related  gathering – will you share with us a photo for our year-in-review gallery?

You can email me, tag The Henry Ford in a Facebook photo or post it on The Henry Ford’s Facebook wall.

For some inspiration, one of our many highlights of the year was working with our real wedding couple – Emily and Ed – whose plans we chronicled on this blog. They hosted their wedding in Henry Ford Museum, and working with them was a joy.

Their wedding photographer, Elayne Gross, shared with us some photos of Emily and Ed having fun in Greenfield Village and Henry Ford Museum.

Another very recent and happy highlight just came from Katie and Zeke, who hosted their wedding ceremony and reception in Lovett Hall. They are a great couple with a lovely family, and their wedding was just beautiful.

I received an email from Katie this week that read, ”I hope you’re having a great holiday season!!! Also, Zeke and I and our families went to Holiday Nights and Eagle Tavern last Saturday and announced we are having a baby!!  It was so wonderful to be able to tell everyone at the dinner. We just love The Henry Ford and Greenfield Village.

So please – brides and grooms – share with us your favorite 2011 wedding memory at The Henry Ford. And like Katie and Zeke, feel free to keep coming back to make many more memories for years to come.
