Making history: Weddings at Eagle Tavern

Eagle Tavern Wedding

Warm and inviting.

I’m sure that’s what weary and hungry travelers thought when they arrived at the inn that now stands as Eagle Tavern in Greenfield Village. Henry Ford had the gracious inn moved from Clinton, Michigan, where it had been since 1831 – and if the walls could talk, I can only imagine the stories they would tell.

It is always a treat working with couples planning wedding receptions in Eagle Tavern. The experience is completely unique, charmingly historic and always memorable.

Whether a bride and groom choose to serve their guests food from our historic or modern menus, the mood is set by the large candle- and fire-lit dining room with its costumed staff, long tables and lovingly worn simple furnishings.

Even though it’s more than 180 years old, the handsome building remains warm and inviting to all who enter. It continues to be a cherished place to share an extraordinary celebration with special guests — giving those walls yet another story to hold as part of the inn’s rich history.

Eagle Tavern is a great venue for smaller wedding parties. The banquet room can seat up to 180 or 135 if there will be dancing. The staff is costumed and the customs are of the period.
