Weekend Update, June 4-5: Members Only

Tea at Cotswold Cottage - Photo by Michelle Andonian, Michelle Andonian Photography

Not really…but Member Appreciation Days are THIS weekend!

As a thank-you to all of our members, we’re offering special savings in our stores and extra perks through Sunday – don’t forget to bring the postcard you received a few weeks back to enjoy:

  • Two free admissions to Ford Rouge Factory Tour (valid June 1-30)
  • Free dessert at Eagle Tavern with the purchase of an entrée
  • Bring an extra friend for free with our free admission coupon
  • Be one of the first 150 members each day and receive a free History Buff pedometer
  • Enter to win great prizes like dinner cruise packages, Tiger tickets and more

Oakwood Healthcare System will be doing free blood pressure screenings and sharing other safety information, including car seat safety, in the Village Plaza, and make sure to stop by our own membership table just inside the Greenfield Village gates for more special offers!

As summer approaches, more refreshment options are now available inside the village. Come take a taste of classic sweet tea or hush puppies at Mrs. Fisher’s Southern Cooking, try one of our own exclusive beers – brewed by Motor City Brew Works – at the Guild Beer Hall (Menlo Light is a good one for hot summer afternoons, as Becks Davis of Detroit Moxie suggests here), or enjoy some cotton candy or fresh-popped popcorn at Carousel Confections after taking a ride on our historic 1913 Herschell-Spillman Carousel! (And of course, our popular custard stand is just across the street.)

But if you really want to try something different, make sure to stop by Cotswold Cottage for a full tea service. Surrounded by the picturesque flowering gardens of the cottage grounds, it’s a great way to unwind while enjoying some wonderfully brewed tea, tiny sandwiches and some sweet treats – a very refined way to spend your day in Greenfield Village!

Inside Henry Ford Museum, come check out the Corliss engine – we will be operating it at 1:30 p.m. – and take another spin around the Discovering the Civil War exhibit; with so much history to explore from this era, it’s easy to find new artifacts each time you go!

Once again, a big “thank you” to our members – it’s your support that makes all of the above programs possible!

What is your favorite perk of membership to The Henry Ford? What other unique member-only experiences would you like to see?
