It’s your last weekend to spend a Day Out With Thomas this year – there are still a few tickets left for a couple of time slots, so if you haven’t gotten to see the cheeky little engine yet, make sure to hurry over to Greenfield Village! (And how cute are these two little railroaders?)
And with spring in full swing, we’re offering a few extra activities for visitors this weekend and next (May 21-22) at Greenfield Village – come on by and try out a few!
Plant your herb garden in a paper pot – this is a project offered throughout the day by our Village Herb Association, in the Agricultural Shed (next to the Agricultural Gallery / Soybean Laboratory):
Meet Henry Ford’s sister, Margaret Ford Ruddiman, just outside of Miller School and listen as she shares memories of growing up with her brother – 10 a.m.-12 p.m., 1-2:30 p.m. and 3-5 p.m.
Make your own clothespin doll inside McGuffey School, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.:
Join 19th-century schoolteacher Miss Nardin as she conducts a one-room schoolhouse lesson inside Scotch Settlement School at 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
And little ones can be part of spring cleaning relay races at the Edison Homestead Yard throughout the day – parents, this might be the most excited you’ll ever see your kids get about chores!
Recipes will also be distributed at select buildings; stop in and see if you can collect the whole set offered!
What are some of your other favorite springtime activities at Greenfield Village?
