It’s beginning to look a lot like…spring??

On the first Monday after Greenfield Village re-opened for the 2011 season, there was something in the air…but it sure wasn’t spring!

Here in Michigan (and in several other states as well), we experienced a rare snow shower more than halfway through April, covering the emerging green grass and budding trees of spring with a dusting of snow – which made for an interesting experience for our guests who came to Greenfield Village for the day!

In spite of the weather, our ever-faithful guests came dressed for winter and seemed to pay no attention to the climate as they raced from building to building or buzzed around the Village in a Model T, enjoying the entire spirit of the day.

Today, the snow that did accumulate has melted down in slightly warmer temperatures, and we’ll have fun pictures to look back on this surprise (and hopefully last!) snow shower of the year – just a little something to remember in July when it’s 93 degrees!
