Winter in Greenfield Village: The cows are on the “moooove” at Firestone Farm! (with video)

Firestone Farm - winter 2011

(I’m sorry, I just couldn’t resist using that in the headline.)

It’s now officially spring, and at Firestone Farm we’re preparing for the big re-opening of Greenfield Village!

A little while ago, we moved our three from our soybean pasture to the field directly behind the barn so that we can start to prepare our pasture for spring.

This was also an exciting day for us, because Arabella – a calf who was born right here on our farm last year – joined the herd for the first time! She’s growing up so fast…

Watch the video here for all of the action – including some interesting facts about our commitment to historical accuracy, right down to the varieties of livestock on the farm! – then let me know: What’s your favorite farming activity to see at Firestone Farm?

Ryan Spencer is manager of Firestone Farm in Greenfield Village. Working at The Henry Ford was a childhood dream of his – although he did not realize then that it would involve so much manure.
