Weekend Update, March 5-6: Record a jingle, take a museum tour and celebrate women innovators

Did you know that March is Women’s History Month? We’re celebrating by honoring the accomplishments of several fearless females, both past and present.

When you enter Henry Ford Museum, make a stop at the video screen in front of our cornerstone – we’re showing clips from our recent interviews with the women featured on our OnInnovation site. From architects to technology leaders, race car drivers to a certain icon of domestic grace and style, there are lots of different women to share their inspiration with you! Who do you think are some of today’s other top female innovators?

And every weekend in March, you’ll have a chance to record your own radio jingle for a key product invented by a woman! Head over to the Silver and Pewter aisle inside Henry Ford Museum (where Santa was this past December!) between 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and participate in a radio jingle that features the inventors of the dishwasher, paper bag-folding machine, windshield wiper and Kevlar.

Great news: The free guided tours of Henry Ford Museum are continuing through the month of March, but now they’re offered seven days a week! Join one of our knowledgeable presenters in the Museum Plaza for a detailed look at some of our most popular artifacts at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Finally, our Lotus race car will be heading to the Concours d’Elegance on Amelia Island on Monday, but we’re planning to have it back in-house and on display on March 16 – so make sure to stop by and see it before it heads off on a short vacation!
