Girl Scouts – earn your badges at The Henry Ford!

Girl Scouts program at the Ford Rouge Factory Tour

Did you know that the Ford Rouge Factory Tour offers a variety of different badge programs for Girl Scouts of all ages to earn? It’s true – and this month, Junior Girl Scouts can participate in the Careers at The Henry Ford: Girls in Tech program, specifically designed to earn the Careers badge!

Scouts will discover the tools needed to be successful in their future careers by meeting professional women and participating in hands-on activities at the Ford Rouge Factory Tour to discover careers related to science, technology and manufacturing.

Some of the activities included in this special badge program include participating in mock job interviews, learning to work as a team by participating in our Flexing For The Future assembly line display and participating in a situation-based game that challenges the girls to think quickly and problem solve. In addition, the girls will see a special video introducing them to inspiring women who work in a variety of tech-related careers at The Henry Ford.

After completing this one-day program, scouts will have met all the badge requirements necessary and will receive the badge at their visit.

The Careers at The Henry Ford: Girls in Tech program is offered Saturday, March 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Groups must arrive on the Ford Rouge Factory Tour buses, which depart from Henry Ford Museum; participants must take the 9:20 a.m., 9:40 a.m., 10 a.m. or 10:20 a.m. buses in order to have enough time to complete the program.

The cost for the program is $11 per scout, which includes her badge, and $8 per adult; one Troop Leader per group may attend for free, and the minimum group number necessary is eight scouts. To reserve tickets, contact our Call Center at (313) 982-6001; the program is limited to 150 participants, so better hurry!
